ITMO Summer Camp on Optical system design
We are honored to invite you to participate in the online training program in Optical System Design, which has been developed by Applied and Computed Optics Department of ITMO University.
Online training participants who will show good results will receive scholarship support for short-term training programs at ITMO University.
ITMO University is one of the Russian leading higher education and research institutions, specializing in Information Technologies, Optical Design and Engineering. Founded in 1900, it annually becomes the home to over 13,000 students. ITMO University offers extensive graduate and postgraduate programs.
Applied and Computed Optics Department is one of the oldest optical departments of ITMO University which does research in many areas where optical systems and optical technologies are used. These include design of optical systems and devices for different purposes (micro optics, astronomical optics, illumination systems, etc.), software development for optical system design, image modeling, optical testing, hologram optics and devices, automated engineering of optical instruments, etc.
The short course Optical System Design includes theory and practical tasks on properties of optical elements which are widely used in different optical systems and optical devices. It also contains the material about some types of optical schemes such as telescopes, microscopes and projection systems.
This online training program is the part of short-term educational program "Optical System Design" at ITMO University.
Online training program in Optical System Design will be held from April 27, 2015 to May 8, 2015.
The course consists of two parts: properties of optical elements and optical schemes. The course gives main ideas about using of optical elements in different optical device and their role in the systems.
In each part there are two stages: the first is informational case. It contains only theory information and examples. You can use this test as many times as you like. The second stage is control test, you have only three trials to pass it and the test time is limited (1 hour per one trial).
Part 1. Optical elements, their properties and a role in the optical devices. Theory information and practical tasks will be offered to participants (April 27, 2015 – May 8, 2015).
Part 2. Optical schemes, main relations (May 3, 2015 – May 8, 2015).
